Chemical vs Mineral Sunscreen: What Actually Differs

Both types work, and the best sunscreen remains the one you will apply generously every day. Mineral filters (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) sit in the FDA's "generally recognized as safe and effective" category and suit sensitive skin; chemical filters cosmetically disappear better and some absorb into blood above the FDA's further-testing threshold, which is not the same as being proven harmful.

What is the actual difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen?

Read precisely, this means: these molecules enter the body, and the FDA wants manufacturers to complete the modern safety dossier that older filters never had to file.
